This sincere and pretty heart is inspired by vintage French linens. The pattern is stitched with white silk floss (or DMC Embroidery Floss) on raspberry linen. It's a great beginners pattern because it uses one color; Zen-stitching at its best! Experience the joy of stitching a piece of heirloom embroidery with your hands.
You may wish to stitch this heart in your favorite colors. For a French farmhouse look, stitch it with white-silk on Amsterdam blue-linen or raw-linen. Red-silk on white linen or flax-linen is a classic choice. There are endless possibilities for this elegant piece of hand-embroidery. I use Zweigart 32-count Belfast linen for all my counted cross stitch pieces. You can find a nice selection of Zweigart linen online.
The finished size of the heart is approximately 6.5 by 6.5 inches
Instead of cross-stitches, you may embellish the center of each rose with a few white seed beads for flair.
