Welcome To Sew French
Hello, and a warm welcome to Sew French! I’m Rebecca Nolen, though friends often call me Becca, the hands and heart behind these lovingly designed cross stitch patterns inspired by timeless French elegance and the gentle allure of peonies, my forever muse.
At Sew French, each pattern opens the door to a moment of calm. Picture yourself in a sunlit corner with a steaming cup of coffee, letting the world slow down as you weave not just threads, but a piece of soulful art that adds warmth and character to your home.
Here, it’s about turning simple spaces into reflections of your own grace and serenity.

How My Embroidery Journey Began…
My journey with embroidery began in the quiet afternoons spent with my aunt in her small coastal Maine cottage, a comforting refuge during the uncertainties of my early years. Her patient teaching in delicate needlework sparked a passion that has become my anchor and source of joy through life’s shifting tides. From navigating personal challenges to cherishing still, simple moments, cross stitch has been my faithful companion, helping me weave together the loose threads of my story with each careful stitch.
My designs aim to offer more than just patterns – they invite you into a serene world of mindful creativity and artistic expression. They say a love for stitching runs in my blood, tracing back to my great-grandmother, a Welsh seamstress who mended fishermen’s nets, and a father who restored antique textiles. This heritage continues to inspire me to keep the tradition alive, creating each piece with intention and heart.
Meet Me, Rebecca Nolen, Your Sewing Companion
I now make my home in a sun-filled cottage along the Oregon coast with my husband, Mark, and our lively adopted tabby cat, Marigold. When I’m not sketching new designs or working on a hoop of stitches, I volunteer at a local community arts center, teaching sewing to both children and seniors, hoping to pass along the joy and calm it has given me.

To all my wonderful readers and customers who have welcomed my patterns into your homes – thank you. Your heartfelt messages, photos of your creations, and steady encouragement have been the threads that keep this work alive.
This blog exists because of your trust and generosity, both emotional and financial.Come explore my corner of the sewing world, where you’ll find not only cross stitch treasures but also quilting inspiration and fabric craft ideas. Let’s keep creating beauty together, one stitch at a time.
